formed by tightening a nut and olive onto a pipe, compressing the olive onto
the pipe which forms the seal Compression fittings are heat free and comprise
of a metal body with compression nuts at each end. These fittings are often
made from brass. However in areas where the mains water is particularly soft
these fittings may be vulnerable to corrosion.
